Back in the Swing

Today is the first day back to reality. The holidays are over, and real life has once again descended upon us.

There is still a mountain of cardboard in the living room, toys in corners of the house where they've sought temporary shelter, and unpacking to be done from our recent trip. But other than that, life is back to normal. Taylor was so excited to start back to school today that he wanted to leave an hour early. I compromised and took him an extra 10 minutes early. It's cold outside, after all. I am enjoying the peace and quiet that is returning. Although it is slightly punctuated by sound effects from the kid's light sabers.

My next goal, which hopefully I will reach with limited difficulty, is to use the treadmill regularly. It's here, in the living room, staring at me. I have every intention of putting it to good use, as soon as I make the time. Right now, however, it's behind the cardboard mountain. So I'll sip my tea, smile at my kids, and leave the exercise for tomorrow.

  1. I think I'll go make some tea and think about doing pilates sometime in the future.
